No doubt, pixar has once again created one of the best movies of the year. Not only are all the jokes laugh-out loud funny, but the film itself was seemingly thrown into a large of Cuteness and left to soak there for a few months to make sure it seeped into every fiber of the film. And at the film's center is a story of regret, redemption and love that doesn't pull punches and shows the hardness that life can bring (a miscarriage in a Disney film?), making the emotional impact run deep in the audience. Ed Asner does a fantastic job, along with every one else. See this. Right now.
When you get down to it, Ron Howard will never disappoint, nor can he as far as I'm concerned. The movie zips by in a flash. The entire cast was wonderful. I felt The Da Vinci Code was far more fun with its puzzles and paintings, but this movie was still a nice break in the blockbuster movie mayhem month of May.
