It was a decent movie. Not the tear jerker I had anticipated, but good for such young actors. The most touching parts of the movie I felt were between the son and his father. After the girl sent him the Dear John letter, her role seemed like an after thought and unimportant. A better movie for younger people/teens, it wasn't developed enough for an older audience.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
