This was very disappointing. The sound was constantly breaking up and the filming focused too much on close-ups, so you couldn't get the feel of the whole performance. The power of live theater was totally absent. I left at the intermission.
This film had some good scenes, but the "plot" never quite happened. Most of the characters were unlikeable, and it portrayed the Jewish community in the late 1960s as in-grown, self-serving, and spiritually empty. It has been called a dark comedy, but there wasn't enough comedy for my taste. Nor did it have enough plot or character development to be a powerful drama. It was mildly interesting to watch, but it left me cold.
