An excellent performance by Matt Damon and tightly wound suspenseful direction by Paul (Bourne Identity) Greengrass makes this one of the most riveting pictures in recent memory. Brilliantly captures the chaos and confusion of those first weeks after the invasion of iraq by coalition forces. Matt Damon plays a man on a mission, so intent on finding WMD that it leads him into a trail of deceit and intrigue and uncovers the ugly truth we Americans still find hard to accept: there were no WMD in Iraq. Outstanding documentary style camerawork and vivid locations make this an incredible film experience. Don't miss it.
This movie is very funny; both my wife and I enjoyed it. It is very Coen Brothers-like in that it's a dark but hilarious comedy. Clooney is wonderful, as is Ewan MacGregor, somewhat spoofing his Jedi role in the Star Wars films. The great thing is that although it seems like an absurdist fiction, this film is based on true events. I recommend it to anyone who likes comedies like "Being John Malkovich" or Coen brothers.
From it's sixties-ish soundtrack and Bond-like transitions, this movie is as entertaining as any I've seen this year. Smart, Sexy, Funny; Duplicity is wonderfully acted and briliantly staged, edited, and shot. Add to that a screenplay that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat as you put the pieces into place, this movie is for the quick-witted, discerning adult movie-goer. Julia Roberts and Clive Owen have a dangerous chemistry that ignites every scene, and Paul Giamatti and the whole supporting cast of NY actors are all first-rate. MUST -SEE!!!
