Much too dark & scary

First, I must tell you that I am an avid Disney fan, so Disney has to really screw up for me not to give a good review. This movie should be for all ages, but it is too dark and scary for young kids. Even my 15 year old was scared. The episodes for the first ghost should be happy and sad. The second ghost should be very jolly (which he was not) and the episodes should have been sad (NOT DARK). The only dark part of the story is the third ghost, but all 3 ghosts were dark. In short, a story known as a wonderful holiday story is 98% dark and 2% joyful which is not what I want from a feel good story. What was Disney thinking?
No, I do not recommend this movie.
