First Class (Sort of)

When I first saw the previews for this movie I have to admit I was a little pumped for X-Men: The First Class. I’ve followed the X-Men movies from the beginning I thought it was a fairly good idea to take it back to the beginning and jump start the franchise once again. First off, for the hard core fans, there are plenty of opportunities to pick this movie apart but like so many movie adaptations in the past it takes the liberty of forgoing details and continuity to bring the story to the big screen. McAvoy, Fassbender and Bacon (Prof X, Magneto and Sebastian Shaw) give excellent performances and the casual moviegoer will probably find this movie entertaining. The movie has action and eye candy AKA - Emma Frost and I’m interested to see where it goes from here but for the geek in me it fell a little short.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Wolfpack are at it again...

I caught a midnight screening of The Hangover 2 last night and I have to say if you thought the drunken debauchery the Wolfpack got into last time was crazy, wait to see what happens in Bangkok. The first Hangover is such a classic that trying to one up it would be nearly impossible. The film stuck to the formula that worked so well in Vegas and took it places that only an exotic local like Thailand can provide.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
