Great action, great gags, great characters, all around great movie. Steve Carell is perfect for this role, and Anne Hathaway nearly steals the spotlight from Carell. If you like visual comedy as well as gags, if you like intelligent comedy, and if you like a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, then this is the movie you must see.
I want my money back! I have to give it a star to get this rating in, bit in reality I must rate this as a BOMB! This movie has no real excitement, just wind blowing through the trees and grass and people killing themselves. I really like Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel, but their talent is absolutely wasted in this waste of celluloid.
To sum it up, this movie is an apologist effort to cram the "global warming" hoax down our throats, and make us believe that the vegetation of this planet, without any brains, can actively and selectively generate a neurotoxin to kill humans in retaliation for increasing the temperature of the Earth 1/2 of a degree. And, the killing stopped when the two main characters showed love for each other.
L. Frank Baum gave us talking trees on Oz. C.S. Lewis gave us dancing trees in Narnia. These were supposed to be fantasies. But when M. Night Shamalamadingdong gives us terrorist trees in America in a fashion that is supposed to be non-fiction in the not-so-distant future, while cowtowing to the likes of Algore and his nonsense, well I just lost all respect for the guy.
I liked this better than the first one, "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe". Great effects, great story, kept me entertained throughout the whole movie. Not just a sequel, this one stands on its own as a great movie.
Great movie. Lots of action and techno stuff. You wouldn't think that Downey could pull off the superhero gig, but the plot really plays out just right for that idea. Several genuinely funny parts with a plot that is relevant in today's world. I went to see it twice, it was that good!
The movie made me laugh throughout. The (former) boyfriend breaks into tears at the drop of a hat, which is funny each time. A few of the characters are very forgettable, except for Kristen Bell in the title role. Mila Kunis, from "That 70s Show", is the most interesting character, although her role feeds in to the typical, predictable behavior in many movies. The plot is weary, " Girl breaks up with boy, boy goes to Hawaii, boy sees girl with new beau at same hotel, boy meets new girl, new girl clashes with old girl because of jealousy, etc." I've left out how it ends, of course, so not to ruin it.
Nothing spectacular in this movie, except for the view of the stars. Yeah, go see it for the laughs and the pretty people.
