This was a really funny movie - laugh out loud in several parts. I have to say, they both look great and this was a very enjoyable movie. Yes, the plot is hard to believe, but that's the point. The plot in this one was much better than The Bounty Hunter. Oh, and can you please put your effin shirt back on!!! HAHA!
as I was hoping for - but it was a decent movie. Miley's performance was pretty weak and forced. The movie seemed rushed. Little brother and boyfriend did a great job in this film - and boyfriend is super easy on the eyes. I agree with someone else about the editing being really strange in places. Soundtrack was good though. I was extremely distracted by her crooked tooth throughout the movie though. For pete's sake, she's a multi-millionaire! Why hasn't she gotten that tooth fixed yet? She's all mouth so that's all anyone can look at!
The bathroom scene was pure comedic genius and worth the $9.25 alone. This movie was a Hard 8 in my opinion. The lead guy is actually cute in a super dorky way but I wanted to make him a sandwich the whole time I was watching. Basement scene and Airplane scene were also great moments. Some of the language was not needed, but unfortunately that's how 20 year old men talk.
This is an amazing movie! The storyline was great and so realistic. Everything in real life is not always wrapped up in pretty little packages. People have baggage, and lots of it. And, extremely dirty apartments to boot! I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and the people crying "foul" about the ending need to watch it again. We will always remember, we need to remember....this movie made me remember.
I really LOVE Gerard Butler, so it's very hard for me to say that this really was not a good movie. I was very disappointed. The script and writing were just bad. The whole plot was ridiculous. And, honestly, the chemistry was not there for me. I want ALL his movies to do well, but no matter how much I love him, I can't make myself think this is a good movie. No wonder they are pushing the "relationship" angle and all the publicity/interviews, etc. They had to figure out some way to make people come see this movie. Very disappointed....and so sad to say that. Comedic timing was awful, lines were awful. There was ONE scene that I laughed out loud in.
I was worried after reading the reviews on this one, but I really liked this movie. I thought it was very true to life - the choices a person makes out of a sense of "duty", and the losses because of those choices. I was totally fine with the end of the movie also. It did not leave me hanging at all. Very impressed with Channing Tatum's acting. I can't stand to see a grown man cry, especially a good looking one!
The movie trailer and ads are very misleading. This was not a love triangle at all. This was a war drama about what some of our troops go through when they get back home and are going through mental trauma. I thought the acting was terrible - or maybe it wasn't that bad because Toby McGuire just creeped me out. I don't feel what happened in Afghanistan is true. I don't think any of our service men/women would make that choice at all. I do however want to thank all our service men/women for their courage and dedication. None of us truly realize what they go through for us each day.
I would go watch Gerard Butler read the phone book, so I would have seen this movie regardless. The critics hated it, but individual people on here loved it - so I was very skeptical. I'm somewhere in the middle. Crude humor does not offend me in the least, but I did feel some of it was unnecessary in this movie. Overall, it was very entertaining and very funny in parts (tree scene and restaurant). I also feel it is the Ugly Truth about what the majority of men are looking for.
Yes, they left out some very important plot points, but it's impossible to get the whole book on film. The funeral is supposed to be at the beginning of the next movie and there will be an epic battle at the end of the last movie - so that was okay.I was actually quite pleased at how well they stayed close to the book.I thought Broadbent did a wonderful job.Tom Felton also has come a long way and did a great job. They've all grown up and have become quite good actors. The stairway scene with Hermione and Harry broke my heart - excellent.Disappointed that so many things like Nearly Headless Nick, Moaning Myrtle and Dobby have been left out of the last few. And, WHERE IS PEEVES!? That's my biggest disappointment with all the movies -no Peeves.
This was a very long movie, but I knew that going in, so I was prepared. The story is very good and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought Brad Pitt did an outstanding job and he is absolutely stunning to look at still...and with "movie magic" we get to see what he will look like when he gets old as well. He's going to age very well, like most all men do. Cate Blanchett was beautiful in this. I've never been much of a fan of hers, but she did a great job, and her skin is unbelievable. I loved his Mom in the movie as well. She was great. I definitely think Brad deserves at least a nomination for this film. It was something fresh and new and I think he did a great job.
