Blue Valentine will leave you blue

Even great performances and smart editing could not help me overlook the overwhelming feeling that I have traveled this road before, for better or worse. I think that too many parts of the story/character development are not explored and too much is left for guessing. The only thing both I, and my husband, could say with absolute certainty is, this film never deserved the NC-17 rating it first got slapped with--although it did create some strong buzz. (Makes you wonder????????)
No, I do not recommend this movie.

MJ: still had it

Put the scandals aside, forget the numerous plastic surgeries-- and how low your opinion of Michael Jackson had sunk over the past years, and see this movie. I was struck with how great the quality of his moves and voice still were. This movie served as a bittersweet reminder of what type of rare talent Michael Jackson was. It will also remind you of what could have been . He was different--he had talent in him that most of only dream of having. When you watch this movie, you see MJ, at work., not the bizarre guy he had reduced himself to over the past two decades.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you loved Julia Child, if you love to cook, or even if you ever wanted to explore a dream but thought you were too old to, this story, or these two stories, are for you.
It is always unfair to compare a book to a movie, and, in the case of this movie it is based on two books, and Nora Ephron pulls it off. Compelling lives, especially charming is the retelling of Julia and Paul Child during their time in France. Lastly, how sexy is Stanley Tucci? He's bald and his name is Stanley, and yet, he's sexier than Brad Pitt!
Oh yeah, Oscar nom for Meryl, Mais Oui!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
