Good, with flaws

Good acting, sometimes great, good character development. Good pacing, despite length. Great effects and action. On the downside: a re-hashed plot from a ST:Voyager episode ("Year of H*ll"), some plot devices (supernova that threatens the galaxy; huh?), and some plot inconsistencies (black holes in the early part of he film cause starships to time travel; black holes in the late part of the film cause starships to blow up). I'm willing to overlook the flaws in favor of the positives. But disappointed that Abrams couldn't get tighter, given his budget and timeline. Some of his weekly plots on Lost have fewer seams.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
