Duchovny was definitely the best part of this movie. His wit and charm. Otherwise, it was a bit bland. And for a TV show that I loved for the first few seasons, I was one of many who stopped watching once he left the show - and that was many years ago. Too long, to remember ALL of the inside jokes.
But that's the key here: you have to be an X Files fan to even like this movie a little bit. The plot (or "kicker") was fairly ridiculous.
And here's a question on continuity without giving away spoilers: Do they ALL live in West Virginia? Where does Scully live? Where does Mulder live? Whose bed was that?
But - it was 90 degrees and humid out, so not a bad way to spend the afternoon.
