If you love Alice....

If you love Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, and have never read the book, I'm sure you will love the movie. But if you loved the book in your childhood as I did, you might be as offended by this movie as I was. Tim Burton has imposed his vision over the book, and created a whole different story, basically destroying the orginal. He made an innocent chidhood dream into a war story, added a plot, and turned the book into something it is not. The feminist twist is nice, but rings hollow, as he is destroying Alice's story while supposedly empowering her. And it is actually the SWORD (read phallic symbol) that does the work; she can only be powerful if she acts like a man.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
