The visual effects were beautiful and there were some really interesting ideas in the movie. There is no doubt that it was a creative endeavor but the story was not only predictable but at times boring. It was too long and at times the acting was hard to tolerate. Although it may be tempting to take kids to this movie because of the beautiful images it would be very disturbing for young children ( okay for 11 and over if they have been exposed to war-type violence). It needs to be seen on the big screen because the story and acting won't hold your attention when it goes to DVD or television.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
