A man of integrity fighting injustice is inspiring

Long awaitied--Acting was superb and twist to the historic was "right on" (the only portion difficult to swallow was Marion joining in the last battle--didn't quite work) .... Crowe and Scott fan!! Truly appreciated the storyline done with insight, and that MOST of the gore was left to our imaginations. Suspense, intense at moments, nice love story ... inspiring to see a man of integrity fight injustice, inspiring others, lead against his first "just survive/flea" instincts - SWEET!!

Laugh at the Chemistry

I would have missed a real "gem", if not asked to preview. A comedic escape that had my sides hurting (yes even the guys in our group laughed). A little enchantment, travel, the arts, every character played to mass effect with the central chemistry between the 2 starring roles immediate. Top with an emphasis on marriage being the ideal goal of real love--Don't miss this one! You can actually be proud to bring the kids...

Lasting Journey

Filled with a few twists, Denzel Washington delivers a character with post apocolyptic fervor against those who would twist the truth. "..we had too much, didn't realize what was precious.." Where the director could have dwelled on the atrocities of the age or sexual exploits, he allowed for glimpses of the darkness, allowing relationships to develop & heighten a hope for humanity: a 30 yr quest on WA's character with Godly interevention/leading--the "Do Over" exists.

Extraordinary Acting but "Book" Loose

If one adores the book, may want to skip since loosely based with a few of the more grim scenarios... Viggo Mortensen's detail relates understanding of the character, the circumstances, & theme; delivering the most compelling performance I've seen in ages. Bleak sets exacting tone; thoughtful dialogue; fight between animal survival & humanity....it leaves the viewer moved...What an extraordinary work that was worth waiting for!

XfmrsGreat, but IMAX doesn't add!

Loved the action, explosions, storyline (with the exceptions of 1 too many "humping" jokes) and the characters--Great Splash 2nd time around. However, no big ADD to IMAX on this one (maybe Sound & Light already did a wonderful job), not worth double the price (although did like having reserved seats).
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Not what I expected!

Great storyline, Christian Bale played the role of Connor dark and the twist with the Marcus infiltrator kept you guessing. Loved the Cameo (don't want to spoil the surprise), and the underlying theme of fate and what makes us human. While suspenseful, it had less obvious gratiutous blood & violence. Highly recommend!
