Energy+Curmudgeon=Laughs

McAdams energy gives everyone hope for the tireless dreamer. Her line "it just needs someone to believe in it" challenges the viewer to suspend the negativity far beyond the TV news arena. Many "all in" people may never succeed, but what a way to live! Humor allows us to LAUGH, and think about what matters. Harrison Ford's character is the perfect curmudgeon that embraces 2nd chances, lightens his image and soul.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Bad Guys can have their day too!

Cute creative cartoon that presents the nature vs. nurture debate with humor and characters that have enough depth that you care. Proving that every “bad” guy can have his day when given the right motivation! Great soundtrack that compliments grand 3D graphics (Viewer can second guess cartoon or real? (hair blowing in the breeze, sparkling eyes, …)—Perfect for that Family Break.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Hope or Warning?

From a horrific tsunami to subtle hues of life and grief, it is a thinking person’s movie, and may miss mainstream appeal. Only an Eastwood/Spielberg combination can weave something as extraordinary as the afterlife into plausibility. Any lengths to connect with a lost one? Damon’s acting establishes a character that grasps the desperation as the “cursed” talent. Rejecting his calling is in direct contrast to the parade of charlatans in the “psychic center” . Their actions are nothing short of torture for their young client. A cameo from Howard adds depth, while highlighting the power of 7 words “I hope someday you can forgive me”. Does the “hereafter” give us hope, or a simple warning?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Heigel & Duhamel have Chemistry!

This was easy to PREview on a glorious Homecoming evening! The chemistry was apparent even from the 1st impression disgust of the characters. A comedic romp that let one appreciate life when curves are thrown--stretching can lead to "family". What would we miss if we don't step up? The "Diaper", "1st Steps", and "Social Worker" scenes left you in stitches, but the quiet scenes were filled with authentic compassion-Recommend to anyone needing some levity or reassurrance! Not just for parents....
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"O Happy Day" for Anyone Needing a Lift!

Uplifting MUST SEE-best of 2010!!! (I've seen a ton and none have captivated like this since viewing Inception). Some liberties with the true life story, yet captures the 60's to a T. Compelling acting delivered from the "horse" to Diane Lane and John Malkovich. The race scenes included heart stopping sound and music that amplified the journey and your cheering. In an era where its easy to "sell out", the determination that led to this GIANT in horse racing is wonderful to revisit! Big KUDOS to Disney for splendid story telling FIT for the whole family, but inspiring for everyone!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True to the essence of the book, wonderful casting and chemistry with leads. The immersion of "on location" shots added to the authenticity of the experience. Couple takeaways: Everyone can be your teacher, and finding value without having to go 1/2 around the world!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Thinker's THRILLER!

Finally a summer movie worth twice the amount of admission! From beginning to end--a thriller that has so many twists & turns that only focused attention lets you keep up with the special effects and storyline. We loved the plot within the plot depth, with no less detail at it's conclusion. What a cast--Leonardo DiCaprio was supreme, even Ellen Page, formally "Juno's" star, filled the role with grace and believability. Hollywood make more movies like this-action & great story with little gore & sex--It can be done...
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Love "Bites"

Seeing it with117 adoring teen fans may have biased my perspective...glad to see certain aspects weren't sacificed in the book-movie translation (books still better). Edward remains iconic for his insistence of virtue, and OVER protection of Bella--what girl wouldn't want someone to wait 100 years for them? Some of the lines were corny "I'm hotter than him", laughing to suspense anticipating the battles (more action this round). Dakota's depiction of Jane was right on! The special effects were still not at the caliber of most blockbusters (Each new they're getting better). A wonderful movie to start a million conversations with tweens to peers about LOVE (vs. lust). Guys it maybe mushy, still enough blood, battling & gore-Cullens while ice are a formidable family unit-proving "Love Bites" can be a plus!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Summer laugh-Not too juvenile!

After a few of the last Sandler movies, wasn't expecting much--Thank Goodness this one has been tamed! Great laughs, reminiscient of one's own reunion with school pals, with a little lesson on priorities and bonds that last. Yes it accentuates some juvenile humor--maybe can't embrace arrow roulette, yet my generation threw Jarts @ each other! Interaction with the families wasn't overplayed, yet Schneider's role with Spring-Autumn relationship was awkward yet managed to not go too far. Need a good laugh? Worth the price of admission!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you're a fan of the "old", you'll love the NEW! Great chemistry with the actors (from cutie Bradley Cooper to Liam to Jessica Biel, as the tough captain with a heart ...it works), & a story full of action and a few twists... on the edge of your seat for this one! The cameo after the credits was a great touch... Looking forward to the sequel or trilogy...
