My friends and I looked forward to this movie as we had with Sex and the City. With the same result--the movie fell short of the original. The book was so excellent in developing the relationship between Bella and Edward and the characters themselves, but the movie fell short on both accounts. I still liked it because I love movies, and I think casting was good for the most part--but I'm not sure that a discerning adult who never read the books would see it the same way. It might just seem like a cheesy movie with not-so-great special effects. I am excited to see the rest of the movies--hopefully they will have a bigger budget to work with and they'll hit their stride.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
