This is a great movie. But, if you're an animal lover...it is hard to watch in several parts. I seemed to have tears in my eyes during most the movie. The movie makes you curious of how much of it could be true and how in the world they could make this movie and not have harmed any of the animals. I chose to assume most of it was computer graphics. The color and photography at the end was so dramatic. Look for one of my favorite creative photo elements was near the beginning when the knitting and the field plowed rows blend together. A bit out of place since a similar treatment wasn't used any other place in the movie that I recognized, but cool. I'd definitely recommend this movie, but take the tissues.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Yes, this is a chick flick, predictable and the trailers gave the movie away. But, this is still a good movie with a perfect blend of beautiful scenery and a couple tear jerking scenes. It's warm and fuzzy and refreshing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I kept thinking of Kris Khristopherson when seeing and hearing Jeff Bridges in his awesome portrayal of a musician; though a drunk. The music, the storyline etc. was all good, but the movie didn't have a WOW message and didn't make you want to stay in your seat in awe at the end of the show. So, it's good, but not great. I'd go see it at the theatre if there wasn't any other Oscar nominees out there; otherwise, I'd wait for it to come out on DVD.
This movie is absolutely wonderful in so many ways. It is beautiful; the story line, the animation, the people, the futurist world. The actors were the perfect choices, I would go see Avatar again. The only negative, for me, was the long battle scene towards the end; it could have been shorter. But, I realize the importance to dramatizing the intense and sad act of death; all because of greed. It's hard for me to help someone visual this movie because it's so 'beautiful' and unique. I'd just go see it for yourself, make sure it's the Imax 3D version, go early to get a great middle seat, embrace those funky 3D glasses, and allow yourself to enjoy a wonderful experience as if in the body of an Avatar.
I have always enjoyed Nicolas Cage flicks, but this wasn't that good because it felt like he was acting. This movie also seem to cross over the religion line towards the end and that was very unfavorably unexpected; assuming the reference was to an Adam and Eve type adventure for the kids. I loved their old house! I wonder if it really exists somewhere. This movie was a bit scarey in parts, and the kids were so messed up. I enjoyed the graphics towards the ending, maybe the entire movie would have been better if it was either all more realistic or all more futuristic like the ending. I wouldn't recommend to a friend a the theatre, but might recommend as a rental.
