Great End to a Magical Series!

Took my 14 yr. old and 14 of her friends to see the conclusion to Harry Potter Deathly Hallows II as part of a Harry Potter-themed birthday party. Everyone loved the movie and I thought it was a fantastic ending. Hate the idea of the series ending at all, to be truthful! Great job by Daniel Radcliffe and his co-horts. Emotional yet sensory-satisfying finale! Go see it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

But for Julia Roberts....

If this hadn't starred Julia Roberts, whom I generally adore in movies, I would not have enjoyed this movie at all. It was very long and dull in many parts. I thought it would be a great chick-flick so a female friend and I attended together but neither of us were thrilled with it. I have read some of the other reviews and I think if I had read the book, I would have understood more. Instead, I did feel confused about what the main character was looking for in her quest, didn't understand her sudden desire to buy a house for the medicine woman, and didn't really enjoy or even fully understand the movie's ending (I am being vague so as not to spoil it for others). Javier Bardem was pretty good and did as much with his role as he could.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Nothing Despicable with this Movie!

My family loved, loved, loved this movie! Very much like the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, we enjoyed watching the transformation of the main villain into a caring father figure by three sweet orphans. Humor and pure adorableness is provided by the "minions", the robotic-like miniatures who do evil Gru's bidding. Stay until the very end as there's cute little 3D surprises up to the very end! Already looking forward to a sequel!

A Fun Escape!

This was an enjoyable way to pass the evening. Tom Cruise still has it and Cameron Diaz was lovely, though the two are starting to look a little mature for these type of movies. Anyway, I thought they had chemistry together and the movie was definitely action-packed! Lots of funny moments and I liked the twist at the end where the two leads basically switch roles! Go see it and you'll be happy you did!

What a great family movie! All the favorite characters are back and as loveable as ever! The story-line is wonderful and there's little unexpected surprises along the way. There was more emotional depth to this Toy Story, I thought, than the other two. Great way to spend some time with your family and feel good when you leave the theatre! Go see it! If you haven't seen the other 2 Toy Story movies, watch them first on DVD then go see this one! You will be delighted!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Teenage Tear-jerker

I took my two daughters, ages 12 and 16 to this movie and they pronounced it "the best movie ever!" I wouldn't go that far but it was more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Miley Cyrus is just okay as an actress but I do love Greg Kinnear and Miley's love interest, Liam Hemsworth, isn't too bad in the acting department and very easy on the eyes. I didn't read the novel that this movie is adapted from but the story line was easy to follow. Not a bad way to spend some time with your pre-teen and teen girls but the boys will hate it - too mushy!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I let my daughter, age 12, rate this movie and this is what she said: ' I loved the suspense in this movie! You get to know Taylor Lautner's character (Jacob) better than in the first movie though you see less of Edward. The ending left everyone in the theatre screaming for more! '
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Family Summer fun!

My husband, two girls (ages 16 and 12) and I saw this movie. It was great fun though not quite as wonderful as the first two movies. But Ellie has a little baby that was adorable and a new character named Buck is introduced so there's plenty to keep everyone involved. Perfect movie for everyone to see together... all ages!

Not too Bad for PG movie

I was looking for entertainment for my 11 year old and this was good enough. Eddie Murphy is (as usual) over the top but the idea of seeing a workaholic daddy and his lonely daughter brought back together sold me. My 11 yr. old enjoyed it and the little girl in the movie is adorable. Nothing objectionable in it for the youngest crowd and not a waste of time like the movie "Mall Cop" was that I saw last week!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This is a feel-good romantic-comedy with lots of laughs and something for practically the whole family (except the littlest kiddies). Betty White is hysterical in this movie and Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have chemistry and are wonderful to watch together. I have already recommended this movie to several folks who have called to thank me for telling them to see it. Have fun this summer and see "The Proposal"!
