The Help is a very good movie, good cast good script and feels very true to 1960's Mississippi. Emma Stone does an excellent job as the lead character but the cornerstone of this film is the strength of Viola Davis. both actresses are fantastic.
The script/story remain true to the book, which will make fans of the book happy. The early pacing felt a little slow, but picked up steam about 30 mins in.
The reviews I had read said this installment was slow and seemed padded to take the last novel and spread it over 2 movies. Completely agree. Movie felt slow in places, and felt like story elements were kept in to make it 2.5 hours long. The middle 60 mins are especially slow. Hope the final installment has better pacing. Did enjoy seeing the new interaction amongst the three main characters, the angst and tension. They have grown up in front of us.
