A fabulous film with an inspiring true story. This movie is what great films should be - entertaining yet meaningful. My husband & I took our 12 year old daughter to this film . . . we all LOVED it. I particularly loved the juxtaposition of communist China and the more democratic West. It was eye opening and thought provoking offering a peak inside a society rarely seen from this vantage point.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

awful! This movies is completely inappropriate for young girls/boys and should have a warning to parents with teenagers. It portrays girls/women as largely stupid and willing to put up with anything to sleep with the hot guy. Although in the end McConaughey "changes his ways" the women never do. A very poor choice for anyone under 21!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
