The word "Intermission" came up on the screen, and people got up to hit the restroom, but Act Two started immediately, and we had to sit back down. That was a cruel trick. They could have just edited the two halves together and skipped that if they weren't going to actually observe it. The show itself was terrific. I hope a lot more of these events become available in the future.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not just for Ga'ys

I'm afraid a lot of people will avoid this film because the central character is a ga'y man, and that would be a shame, because it's a film about loss and grieving - and how deeply felt the absence of one's life partner can be. The film takes liberties with the book, but only in the interest of translating narrative action (George's internal state) into film action. The actors are all excellent, with Colin Firth giving the performance of his career. The use of color is a character in itself.
