Only for 13-year olds or hard-core fans

It felt like the movie would be best enjoyed by 13-year olds, or maybe by hard-core fans. I didn't enjoy it. It had too much long pauses and teenage angst to keep track of the plot. Was there a plot? I certainly wouldn't have understood anything without reading the book.
BTW, IMAX wasn't worth it.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
