We found this true tale of daring and determination an inspiring counterpoint to the infinite sorrow of the Holocaust. As a descendant of Jews from this same part of Byelorussia, I know that many are indeed that tough and that resourceful. It rings true. The direction and performances were entirely convincing and made me feel I was given a window into that time. Was there some recognizable Hollywood formula in the telling of the tale? Of course. But there's a reason for the formulas. They work.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
