. The special effects and 3-D elements were great. I don't usually like CGI, but was able to put aside my misgivings as it was really well done. I found myself truly enjoying the movie, the culture and feeling protective of it-as was intended-but also couldn't beleive that I'd sat for 3 hours engrossed. Some elements reminded me of Octavia Butlers's xenogenesis trilogy (the joining of tendrils to connect with other species) and if you enjoyed this movie you may also enjoy her literature.
