Great cast - especially Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz. I do agree with an earlier post that the story was a little slow at the beginning, but the beautiful landscape scenes made up for it. The camera work during the chase scenes were sometimes too close to really see what was going on. The plot was interesting and suspenseful. Overall, the movie was entertaining and is probably a primer for a sequel to include both Jeremy Renner and Matt Damon (given the numerous references and photo shots of Jason Bourne). Worth the price of admission.
Pros great actors, clever plot
Cons camera work during chase scenes, slow in parts
Yes, I recommend this movie.

CHEESY

An absolute waste of time. There was no character development or semblance of a plot. The actors seemed to be struggling to deliver their lines without evidence of a Director's hand (maybe the aliens got his brain at the onset). I found myself laughing out loud it was so absurd. For example; as thousands of people are being sucked up into the alien vessels with complete annihilation of civilization imminent (including the dropping of A-bombs) one character is worried about second hand smoke! Hilarious! If you feel you must go (perhaps you enjoy visual effects) then go for the laughs as it is complete cheesy camp. For those reviewers who were lamenting the lack of a concrete ending - just be happy it ended.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Don't bother.

The plot was unbelievable and several attempts at comedy were actually uncomfortable (such as the scene at the rehearsal dinner). Bullying prevails as simply normal growing pains. This is underscored by the fact it blankets three generations. Given the serious problems with bullying in our society, it seemed a little irresponsible to me. No real lessons learned here.
