I found the story to be a bit memento-ish for the blockbuster crowd. By that I mean, possibly difficult to follow for those not expecting or willing to latch onto every detail in a 2.5 hour escapism flick. The concept behind this film is ambitious, so considering, I believe the execution was pretty solid. I caught the midnight showing (dream time), so that may explain my being a bit antsy in regards to the lack of anything really jaw-dropping outside of what was shown in the trailers. There was intense dialogue and accompanying score, which was a bit much in some instances (blaring tuba after a key line..rinse/repeat). Again, I may need to rewatch, but Nolan's love for the sophisticated script has taken priority over the "needs" of the average movie-goer(i.e.LCD). Overall, I thought the acting was top-notch as expected. The visuals were great. I would like to give it a second viewing on the jib of course, but definitely not a typical summer blockbuster. Don't be surprised if it quietly disappoints/confuses your non film geek friends.
