Dull

This movie was ho hum, very slow, very quiet _ we could hear a movie nearby, just like everyday people that are at the low end of their lives wanting more. It was interesting to see what happens after the crime investigators are gone. It had good acting, new idea for a story, but the end should have happen in the middle or beginning so it had more to it. I felt yucky sometimes and during these times I don't think we need more to bring us down.
I'm disappointed in the reviews I read before going. What you see in the trailer with two ladies in a elevator talking is exactly how this whole movie is like. I have no idea what I was thinking going to see this movie. People were walking around in the theatre i was at, never seen that before.

Very good movie

The acting, story, believeablability was all very good. It was a little too dark in lighting. It reminded my husband & me of bits and pieces of other movies "Mizzi" being one. It was good to see a better made movie - been awhile. Movies are coming out far and between not very good ones.

Awful memories

I saw the original "last House on the Left" at the drive-in. I've seen alot of horror movies since this one, but nothing like the 1972 movie. Rent the 1972 movie if you are definitely going to see the new one. The memories of the 1972 movie are awful and I don't recommend getting those in your head.

Disappointing

I read alot that said something was wrong with Zellweger makeup, this bothered me too, but I had no idea it was her makeup. Then I was thinking maybe this was her character & her acting; her mouth was suppose to be that way.
It was different than the trailer - was the movie so bad they couldn't be honest with the trailer and put what was actually in the movie in the trailer instead half of it not even being in it or totally different?
The acting is not quite there. They had good material, good idea, good story, should have been really funny, but somehow they ruined it, The emotion just doesn't connect.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Surprisingly very very good

This was a really good movie, I liked the story, and I like the characters at least the good guys. The acting was really good. I could feel what this would be like. It had reality to it and I like the way the story developed.
I do recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a really good movie. The critics reviews were right on to their warnings to young people at the end of their review.

Didn't like the story

I think the acting was right on, but I didn't like the story at least the ending was very disappointing. The movie was well made, the acting great, but for the advertisement being so intriquing it was just a slow tear jerker. I was about ready to boohoo when I left the theatre. The people were so quiet leaving the theatre it was like a funeral procession. I guess this is when it's good to read the book so you know what to expect . I know I wouldn't have gone to see the movie if I had read the book.
