A very good film, beautifully crafted. Nice script, fine acting. Makes you forget the other True Grit movie for a couple hours, which is a high compliment. One problem: I couldn't understand but about half of what Jeff Bridges said, and even had trouble understanding some of the other actors. A sound recording problem? Or just too much mumbling for its own good? Whatever. Some sudden violence and animal issues.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Maybe a 4th star for kids

But as an adult who loved the first Nanny McPhee movie, I found this one a little lacking. And although the story should hold the young ones' interest, be warned that the story is hard-hitting emotionally in parts for the kids. A small girl (maybe 4) in front of me started sobbing uncontrollably on her mother's lap during the last scene, and other small ones were audibly confused and uncomfortable at other difficult moments emotionally.
Beautiful to look at in IMAX 3D (the ONLY way to see this movie), but even the visual awe aspect wears thin after 150 minutes. I was mesmerized by the first half of this movie, but the last hour bored me when it turned into a loud, action-oriented video game. Some judicious and ruthless editing throughout was in order.
And despite the obvious good intentions, the message storyline in the second half became unnecessarily heavy-handed. Less of the sledge hammer was in order.
Worth seeing for the visuals, but take a nap before you go.
