I like dramas that move me and hold my attention; not to smolthzy, but really touches me. Pride and Glory did just that. The fine acting and realism, made me to take off my rose-colored glasses and see the pressures that our men and women in blue have to endure almost on a daily bases. I guess there is certain sense of loyalty in the police dept. But mix that with family, and this is was kept me sitting in my seat. A definite must for my collection.
I'm not much into the video game genre, as I think this movie is based, but I must admit that the acting and overall idea of Max Payne held my attention from start to finish. I always kept looking for the flight of the Valkerye. Mark Wahlberg gave a commendable performance, though of late I've seen him in better roles (The Happening). I don't know yet if I plan to add it to my collection when it becomes available on DVD. Perhaps I'll purchase it as a gift for a friend.
Knowing that DiCaprio and Crowe were together drew me to see this movie. But I was not impressed with the acting nor the plot. I may have gone in with expectations of stellar performances and being captivated with a story line that would hold by attention from beginning to end. Rather I found myself kat-napping and pondering an unresolved ending.
I just returned from seeing this movie, and wasn't impressed. Blair Witch Project, Cloverfield, and now this. Stomping a rat, a mad dog, a mad child, and several flesh eating adults was all abit too much for an evening out. Will not be viewing again or adding it to my collection. Disappointing!!!
I admit, it dragged in some spots, but overall I would see it again. The acting is good, but not necessarily stellar. The way it ended was somewhat puzzeling to me. The actions scenes were 'edge of your seat'. Kudos to Steven Sp on direction. But I somehow get the feeling that he's beginning to slow down when it comes to action-packed adventures.
A truly action-packed film with a touch of humility. The acting is stellar, and the movie itself touched, accept for the scene where he dines on an animal.
Though I had not seen the earlier version, I was impressed with this movie. All the actors gave stellar perfomances, and the action was practically non-stop. Will definitely add this to my movie collection.
I enjoyed seeing Brandan Fraser, missed seeing his former love interest, Jet Li has without question proved his worth as the next Bruce Lee, and the action kept my interest. But other than that, it was quite similar to its predecessors. As like the latest Indiana Jones flic, I wanted to see something new and different. Will buy it when it comes available on DVD.
