Well, in my opinion it would seem that some of the complaints at various locations about sound were theatre issues and not opera in 3D issues. However, i must agree I did enjoy the version of Opera in Cinema i saw last year. (except for the conductor!) The performances seemed good but i wonder if I would have felt differently if I had been present at The Royal Opera House to see this show. In this presentation, i just didn't FEEL it this time I'm not sure 3D had anything to do with it or how it was shot.
Since I have not seen any of the previous films I did not have any expectations. This is not exactly my kind of movie but it was very well made and the story was good. I especially liked the 'medical developments" part of the movie. I would certainly recommend it for anyone who liked the previous films. My friends did seem to enjoy it and they are fans of the films.
