I had never gone to see the short nominated live action films in theatrical release but went at the urging of my son, a film major. I was taken aback with the quality of the storytelling. I was moved, entertained and never bored. All 5 films are excellent. Two of them show children in utter poverty but hope and humor put these children in a different perspective. I personally identified with the Canadian film. It is better than "Amour".

This film perfectly captures the comic and tragic side of a woman trying to make a major change in her life. All of us can identify with that. The acting is wonderful and the cinematography makes you want to fall in love with New York all over again.
This is a Bollywood film that all of us can relate to. And the music videos make you want to get up and dance.

A well done movie based on a true story!

It is fascinating to watch how a respectful, pious and sensitive soul slowly transforms into a leader in the club drug smuggling ring consisting of Hasidic Jews. the movie is based on a true story that happened in the late 90's. The Jewish community of Williamsburg is wonderfully depicted and the acting is superb. Growing up without the secular temptations we take for granted, I think how strange our world must be for those outside. Money corrupts, even those steeped in religion and tradition.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
