Did the directer even see the TV show???

My children...and I watch this cartoon all the time. I like it because each episode teaches my children diffrent moral lessons. So to say we were all looking forward to seeing the movie, my children were even counting down the days. Well it finally came and we went to the first showing and sat dead center in the new 3D theater...boy were we in for a big disappointment. The very first thing that hit us was the director changed the main charters name. Every time it was said in the movie only served to remind us that the director did not take this movie seriously. It wasn't until today when we saw the making of the last airbender did we see why the director change the names in the movie. He said he changed it because thats how HE would say it in his country. What the heck was this....Some how I dont think the Harry Potter fans would be happy if the director changed Harry's name to Howard Potter or his friends names to Ralph Weizley or Henretta Granger. Why change something so simple. And what happen to Aang, from the time he broke out of his ice sphere, he was one step away from committing suicide. Talk about a person needing prozack. The best part of Aang was his youthful look on life and in the movie we did not see that. It was almost like we were watching an old man in the body of a little boy. And speeking of a little boy, I am sure Noah Ringer is a great actor and a very nice child, but he was not right for this part. Lets face it you can shave any kids head and put him in front of a camera, but that does not make him right for the part. Noah's voice was way to deep and he showed only one emotion...anger. Looking at the making of the movie the dirctor stated he found Noah online and he was proud of that. Well I say he needed to get out of his office and search for an actor that better suited the part....that is what made the Harry Potter series so successful...the right casting. Heck I wont even go into the other cast members, but I will say that Prince Zuko was perfectly cast...that was the only one.
And dont waist your money seeing it in 3-D it just made the movie much darker then it already was...half the time I had to take my glasses off just to see what was on the screen. Dont waist your money or time seeing this movie. It is a shame because they had so much to work with and this could have been the next blockbuster movie franchize, but instead it will bearly make it to DVD. One of the worst movies I have seen if only because THE DIRECTOR betrayed the real show so much that should have had a totally diffrent name and never been made in the first place. Did I hide my feelings well? I guess not...just dont waite your time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This movie was all it was billed to be and more. It was one of the most enjoyable movies of the year. I must say I am a Jacob supporter because the actor Taylor Lautner put the movie over the top. It was finally great to see a movie studio push all the right buttons and produce a movie worth the $15 that I spent to see it. This is a must see, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I was looking forward to seeing this movie from the previews, but was left disappointed after viewing the film. The storyline behind this movie has been done before and there was nothing special about this film to make it different. I thought the acting was sub-par and it was obvious that the film was trying to use the character Ronald Weisley from the movie Harry Potter when they cast the role of the eldest son. With that aside, I did not find any of the characters in the movie likable, so by the end of the movie I really didn’t care what happened to the family. I liked the idea behind the movie but feel the studio failed to deliver a picture of quality, which would explain why it had a limited release.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This was a really good movie for kids of all ages. My 6 year old son and my 10 year old son loved the movie. I too must say I really enjoyed the movie. It seemed to pick up where Star Wars left off. This movie was action packed from the opening scene untill the final moment of the movie. My only criticisim would be that the movie was to short. At Just more then 89 minutes I felt they could have added a little more to the movie, for lets face it, with movie tickets going at over $10 a person I want to feel like I got my moneys worth and it is hard to feel that way when you watch a short movie. Other then that, this was a great movie for everyone to see... HIGHLY RECOMENDED.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
