The visuals elevate this movie to a better than average rating but the story lacks originality in many areas. In many ways this movie has an '80s feel in the way the characters are portrayed and the simplistic conflicts that have been set up. How about conflict as complicated as the world that has been created? It is truly original and deserves a big story but not one we've seen before. There are truly breathtaking moments in this movie and it is worth seeing for those but the story is somewhat disappointing. Thank you, James Cameron, for advancing the state of the art but maybe you could give the guys from Lost a chance to write the story.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
