New Moon is a well-acted movie that is faithful to the novel. Kristen Stewart continues to excel as the love-lorn lead of the movie. Taylor Lautner steps up and delivers an excellent performance as Jacob. The most pleasant surprise of the movie is Ashley Greene, in her expanded role as Alice.
The writers do a good job of carrying multiple emotional threads through the movie. The top thread is, of course, the "young love" thread, which in this movie is added to by the love that Jacob has for Bella. Underlying this thread are multiple "danger" threads, including the threat posed by Victoria, the enmity between the vampires and the werewolves, and the threats posed by the world-ruling vampire clan, the Volturi.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

See this movie if you want to feel good!

For anyone who can't see the play at a professional venue like Las Vegas (for $100 a ticket or so), this movie is an excellent substitute! The cast wasn't chosen for their singing ability (the women sing okay, but the men -- well -- they tried :-) ) -- but the story line, music, scenary, and heartfelt acting more than make up for the vocal deficiencies. I know that my wife and I will be buying this on DVD as soon as it comes out, so that we can watch it over, and over, and over again...
Yes, I recommend this movie.
