I went to see this on my birthday yesterday with my husband. I did not see any earlier versions of this film, but I was vaguely familiar with the Greek God legends. I liked much of the special effects in this. There were many scary parts, that I thought were really good. What I liked the least? There wasn't enough of a back story or intermitten story for those of us who had not seen this movie before. They could have had more dialog about why Haites and Madussa were in the underworld, and why Zeuss(I may be spelling their names all wrong, please forgive) wanted worship so much. There was many times when I thought, "ahhh, now they're going to explain", but then it just moved on to something else. I also did not like the ending. It was kind of lame. I thought they could have made it more inspiring and then had a lead into the sequel. My husband and I looked at eachother after gritting my teeth the whole time, and were stumped as to why it ended that way. We both said "What? That's it?" They could have had more dialog between Persius and the Gods he encountered as to help the audience really understand why he wanted nothing to do with them. It was kind of there, but not really. I thought the story needed more of an emotional pull, but maybe I'm the only one. Anyway, overall, some good one-liners and cool graphics. I thought the acting was good also, story line, not so much.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thought this movie was great and on a comepletely differerent level than Twilight, in every way. Great effects, great acting, great everything! Well done to all involved!
