We really enjoyed watching this extended version on the big screen. The introduction by the director added additional expectation and interest. The battle scenes were really impressive! J. R. Tolkien was a gifted writer and these films revealed that.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Really enjoyed the opportunity to see this again and to see it even better! What a great story. It never ceases to entertain. We went home discussing and analyzing the meaning of it all.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Revealing

The battle of ideas is far more important than most people would think. This movie deals with the danger of theories becoming a god or religion, the very aspect so feared by those promoting evolution. The result is a shutting down of opposing viewpoints. Ben Stein, with a sense of humor, presents the need of freedom of thought and theory in science. Looking back in history reveals the need to see the far reaching effect of what we believe.
My only criticism is that in promotion of this movie the humor expected is overplayed. It is more a serious film. Ben Stein does an excellent job, however, in presenting this serious concern with levity that makes the movie entertaining.
The contrast of the past with the present gives depth to the importance of this movie in our time. I appreciate the concern that called Ben Stein to make this movie and would recommend it to everyone as one worthy of seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
