Just got back from watching the 12:01 show. All I can say is that I just sat there with my mouth open like a little kid the whole time. Then again, I've been obsessed with Transformers for as far back as I remember so I was going to like it no matter what it was. Everyone else in the theater I was in went nuts during most of the fight sequences and especially at the end. Then again, they were mostly, if not all, fanatics like me. I thoroughly enjoyed it obviously. Pretty much, if you liked the first one, you'll more than likely enjoy this one as well.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
