My overall all rating is 4 stars. I did enjoy it!First, the theater: NYC AMC IMAX at 42nd & 8th sucks! Go to the NYC Lincoln Center Lowes IMAX. It is a real IMAX. Second the movie: I keep up with the movies as well as tv, however I do not consider myself a Trekie. It is Spock and young James T. Kirk's conversation on the icy planet that explains why this movie is being called a "reset". To have arrived at this as the key to develop this new group works because it ties it into episodes from the TV series. I also loved all the references to the original tv series and the nostalgia. For example, having young Kirk sleeping with a green college/cadet girl was a nice salute to the old tv series in a sly way.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
