I loved the books, and this is not as good... but hardly any movie is able to pull that off. The action is fun and the storyline inventive but the script was short on character. My daughter (10) said, "Best movie ever!" The two hours flew by. A few scary scenes for my almost 7 year old, but he did fine. I'd recommend it for the whole family
