Hoped for so much more

This film reminded me of Sky King in color. It was about as deep as that old series, but has better music and cinemaphotography. For at least the first hour, the characters were cardboard standups, albeit with some animation. I kept waiting to find out more about Amelia than the fact that she wanted freedom and wanted to fly. That didn't happen.
The plusses are that Ms. Swank has a great smile and tears up very well. Her costumes were great.
As for the film being a family movie as my fellow lover of BC's claims, if adultery is your idea of good family fun, we part ways.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
