Great styling.
Cher has never sounded better, and there is never any doubt about how wonderful she looks, can't keep your eyes off her.
Stanley Tucci can do no wrong in my opinion.
Christina Aguilera - what pipes and, as with Cher, you keep staring rather gawk-eyed nearly to the point of being embarrassing.
As a movie musical simply has to be, suspend any expectations of a wonderful script. The foundation of a Burlesque is wonderful for a musical. And it is great to expand on what The Pussycat Dolls have done for renewing public awareness of burlesque as art. It truly is.
Although I appreciate suspending reality, the style-side here isn't as talented as all the elements and personalities could have made for.
Summary - talented and entertaining, yet often on the corny side of clever.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

the chatter about heath ledger being nominated for an oscar is worth all the buzz. his portrayal of the joker was truly great. whomever wrote his dialogue gets some kudos as well.

the complete change in genre had me disoriented through most of the movie. the tongue-in-cheek nature wins you over.
