I laughed myself stupid throughout this, and I'm a grown up - or at least my age tells me so! Even my husband, who came with me under duress, thought it was "very funny". The characters are very strong - the bad guy (Gru) has a heart, the orphans are adorable and I just want to take all the Minions home with me. Oh, and the dog (Kyle) is fabulous! It also has a really fun soundtrack, including some great tracks from Pharrell that I shall be downloading from iTunes. I don't think I have enjoyed a comedy quite so much in a long time, even if it is a kid-flick.
Whilst it was exciting and fast-paced, the story line was lacking. All the fun elements of the James Bond character (gadgets, Q, the car, a sense of humor) were missing. I think the film editor needs to drink less caffeine, I had to look away from the screen during the opening sequence - the frames changed so quickly you could not even focus, I found it uncomfortable and could not follow it.
I did enjoy it, but it is not on the best-of list. Please can we have a story back for the next one?
