Laugh out loud funny, not for the kids with some of the language and subjects but spot on comedy. Kristen Wiig is very effective and Mellissa McCarthy absolutely steals every scene she is in. Word of warning, you will laugh so hard your sides will hurt and you will cry and repeat lines coming out of the theater.......so be careful when you take a sip of your drink least you spew it out on the person in front of you. Enjoy.
Caspian is acknowledged as one of the weakest of the Narnia book series and it plays out here. Reminded my of "The Emperor Strikes Back" in the Star Wars series, dark, moody, shifting alliances. The first half of the movie is rather slow, my kids were straining to see (the picture is very dark) and follow the story line while being engaged. Finally some interesting battles break out and the climatic battle is well done. The actors seem more wooden this time, less engaging that in Chronicles. Lucy is a wonderful character, the only one who displays emotion. Caspian is dull, lethargic and with a strange accent (Spanish/Italian?) that does not fit the rest of the characters. The storyline is complex but not explained well. Good, solid entertainment but could have been 20 mins shorter.
