As a family of fans of Avatar the cartoon, this movie definitely met the expectations. Would give a 4 1/2 stars out of 5 if I could. It was a pleasant surprise from Shyamalan in comparison to some of his others. The scenary was amazing to see. The special effects were good. The story line could have been developed a little better, but was good enough to leave us anxious to see the sequels.
If I were stranded on a deserted island and could only watch one movie for the rest of my life, I would choose this one. It brings you everything... laughter, tears, joy, fear, victory, loss, strong moral story.
The story line clearly speaks to the selfish and self-centered tendencies of human race and our mentality to take what we want with no regards to the harm created. Good lesson for the kids to learn young.
This movie had everything needed for a great family movie - action, adventure, comedy, moral story. Seeing it in 3-D was a definite bonus to a really good movie.
It was wonderful that Marvel went back and redid the atrousity that was titled The Hulk from a few years back. This was a fabulous recreation of the comic and TV wonder that amazed us all as kids. I was glad to share this one with my boys so they too would have long lasting and fond memories of this classic.
