Of a sort - you get exactly what you go for. Repetitive violence with all the new special effects bells and whistles, touches of humor, cameo appearances, and more. Rourke stops the film with a wrenching small essay about choices and lost redemption. Stallone learns a lesson in humanity. It's all dark and good:)
