By not being "tidy" in plot or progression or look, "Frances Ha" gains in reality--and in fun. It follows one 27-year-old and her circle of friends in the New York of right now as they plunge from college-days euphoria into the difficulties of relationships, money, and work. But this movie is not a downer--it is sharp. Frances, played by co-writer Greta Gerwig, is unforgettable.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Avatar is beautiful and exciting to watch--an original even while it combines the monsters and machines of Star Wars, the landscapes of Lord of the Rings, and the plot and characters of Pocahontas. The "People" of the distant planet look like Native Americans and share the popular notion of their one-with-the-earth philosophy. The movie makes us take their side (noble savages) against the earthlings. The originality is in the art and in the technique--fun to watch, remarkable, a trend-setter.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This film is clever--fun for anyone with a sick sense of humor--plenty of surprises and a well-thought-out ending.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
