I like Robert Downey Jr. and was looking forward to his take on the character of Sherlock Holmes. He did a fine job, however the movie was incredible slow during the first half. It just plodded along to the point where I started wondering what time it was. It's not necessary to have it packed from start to finish with special effects but the story needs to pull the viewer in and this one did not. A good rental I would say, but not worth the price of a theater admission. Since they clearly left the door open for future sequels with the introduction of Prof. Moriarty let's hope they pull it together going forward.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
