Better off as a TV Movie

Overall “I Want to Believe” is fairly enjoyable.
The disturbing elements, occasionally humorous moments, unclear motives of the villains, and tender connection between Mulder and Scully are all present. However the film would have been better suited as a TV movie as opposed to being theatrical.
“I Want to Believe” lacked the grand-scale, brimming of exciting locations and sets that “Fight the Future” offered. If you can overlook Scully's subplot seeming rather forced, a far too convenient scene in which Scully discovers something that will help Mulder's mission, and an abrupt ending, you may enjoy this film.
