This was a good movie, but I must say I enjoyed Ali Larter a little better than I enjoyed Beyonce. I also thought that maybe the story would've been better if Ali was married to Idris and Beyonce was the psycho woman. It seems more feasible that a black woman would be jealous that a white woman was married to such a fine black man. I would like to have seen Beyonce grittier; she wasn't as edgy as I know she's capable of being. But overall it was good entertainment and the audience reactions are always fun.
All I have to say is why did we have to wait so long to see Vin Diesel in his element again? And can we please have a new "Chronicles of Riddick"?! This movie was simply awesome, on-the-edge-of-your-seat phenomenal fun. Just the right amount of erotic undertone and lots of testosterone. I loved every minute and I guarantee you, you will too!
As much as I would like to give this movie credit for its originality and chill factor, I still left a little disappointed in the storyline. The explanation for what was going on in the house was crammed into like 5 minutes. I didn't feel a real build-up, rather the climax was kind of forced and I just think the movie should have been longer than 90 minutes to allow for that build. There are some very unique metaphysical elements that I was delighted to see come to life on screen, but the pieces just didn't connect for me. I also think they showed too many of the good parts in the previews, which leaves you kinda dry while watching the movie. Wouldn't recommend it, but it has its value in entertainment.
WOW! This was such a fun movie. There were so many really genuine parts that I could really relate to relationship-wise. Gosh they just don't make movies this good anymore. Thank you producers, writers, and especially actors. The story and acting is great. It's worth the trip to the theaters. Go see it!
First and foremost, this movie is NOT for the timid or squeamish. If violence bothers you in the least you will walk out of this film.
"The Last House on the Left" is a very well-crafted evolution for Wes Craven. He's taken some elements from the newer horror film makers and added his own craftiness of which he is known for. This film does not disappoint and is reminiscent of the jaw-dropping introduction of the Scream films. Excellent cinematography, ingenious music, and dynamite suspense. All of the characters are well-acted, and even those who live for these types of films will walk away slightly disturbed. This movie will not disappoint you, but yet again I warn you, not for the timid.
A very complex storyline with the pretense of superhero activity that came across as just a bunch of beefed up guys that constantly beat everyone and each other up. While I have a true appetite for the abstract this was a big let-down. I anticipated much more and a more seamless storyline. Maybe if I was into the novel I could have appreciated this more, but usually there is something of substance to appreciate on film. This left me very unfulfilled and apparently its substance is too esoteric for the non-reader. The two stars I give it are for the character Manhattan alone, as he was the only thing I could relate to.
Combine the sultriness of a vampire and the ferociousness of a werewolf and you have "Rise of the Lycans". It was scary, sexy, and dark. Some of the special effects could have been just a tad better, but the story was very good and made up for any lack thereof. I was fully engrossed in the whole story and left anticipating how they will progress the "Underworld" franchise. Prequels always seem to be better! Why does going backwards always seem to work? If you want to see a dark, scary love story, you'll like this film. Even if you are not abreast of "Underworld" you will enjoy it.
From beginning to end "Friday the 13th (2009)" is an intense ride of spine-tingling chills and rampant violence. This film is so well put together, and this Jason Voorhees represents the true evolution of horror films. In my opinion it is almost art in a sense, in a twisted sort of way. Michael Bay & Marcus Nispel did a great job with this film and if it continues to a sequel like the original, I hope they hold interest in continued production. We don't need anymore bad "Saw-like" sequels/franchises. Thumbs up guys!
Don't sleep on this campy horrorfest! My expectations were not high, but I definitely wanted to see it since it is in 3D and it did not disappoint. I love this movie and I want to see it again. I saw it in Digital Real-D 3D, which is 10x better than IMAX 3D. It is true camp at its best, but we were so drawn in. I think it would even be good without the 3D, but it definitely made it way cooler. 2 thumbs way up!
