the funny parts were very funny. in true apatow fashion, there's a good mix of crude/potentially offensive humor/language and emotional depth. fairly complicated for a d!ck and f@rt joke movie, not as depressing as dancer in the dark. i think this one leaned more toward drama than comedy, in comparison to 40 year old virgin and knocked up. i would've liked more comedy, but again, the funny is funny. it can be a bit of a bummer at times, but worth seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
